Oakmont's 8th hole causing stir
Oakmont already has caused a great stir among the players, and the 107th U.S. Open hasn't even begun. Players who haven't been to the course are painfully aware of the new, expanded eighth hole, which will play 288 yards from the back tee -- the longest par 3 in U.S. Open history. Tiger Woods called it "what ... a 900-yard par 3?"

What's behind Seve's struggles?
Seve Ballesteros hasn't made a cut in a major since the 1996 Masters, hasn't won a tournament in Europe since the 1995 Spanish Open. From 1999-2006, he made just 22-of-77 cuts on the European Tour. In addition to having a shaky swing, he also has arthritic back and knee problems - not exactly the formula of success on any tour.
